Spring Gathering was a success!

PCFA’s Spring Gathering happened on March 22nd, 2025, and we had a blast! It was a great way to spend intentional time in community and connect. We truly believe that building intentional time in community is so important right now. We are living in a uniquely challenging time where people are experiencing stress, confusion and fear as a result of a myriad of issues including federal actions, climate change, and the general goings of day-to-day life.

But we can be intentional and build community. That is in our control. We can connect, we can communicate, we can build care and love. We can put forth our values of empowerment, resilience, collaboration, land stewardship, intersectionality, diversity, equity, and inclusivity that allows a community centric approach so that when we talk about addressing issues like food policy and hunger, we are centering the needs, voices, and agency of Pima County residents.

It was with that intentionality that PCFA chose to have the Spring Gathering at Flowers and Bullets Midtown Farm, a local hub of community connection not just to each other, but to the earth itself. It’s was why we chose to have food from Tania’s 33, a local institution for delicious food. It was why partners like Pima County Master Gardeners, Pima County REACH Program, and Farm to Power Arizona attended so we can highlight collaboration. And it was why we brought in local musician Kiri Escalate of Aztral Folk to share music and joy.

So much gratitude to all those who joined us and those who helped make the day a success!
