At the Pima County Food Alliance we recognize how important our local producers are to the community. Many of these are small businesses or families who are sharing traditional and cultural food knowledge or bringing their goods to market. Navigating local regulations can be overwhelming, especially while managing the daily demands of growing their businesses and creating their product.
The Safe & Healthy Foods Working Group of the Pima County Food Alliance was formed to help clear up confusion around health code regulations. To support local producers and makers we’ve carefully researched, developed, and clarified with local government contacts, when possible, user-friendly resources that we hope will simplify various parts of these processes for the public.
Our goal for offering this new community resource is to reduce barriers so producers can focus on what they do best: bringing healthy, local food to our community.
