State-Level Advocacy Training
This training is being facilitated by Jessie Gruner, Director of Community Innovation at Pinnacle Prevention, and PCFA's Policy & Advocacy working group. Join us for an overview of the Arizona legislative session and when it is most impactful to be engaged. We will cover how to use the Request to Speak (RTS) system to let your representatives know which bills you support or don't and why, as well as other tips for engaging with policy and legislators at the state-level. The training will be hosted at Splinter Collective (901 N 13th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85705) from 9am-12pm on December 6th, 2025.
A light breakfast and coffee will be provided!
Book Discussion - The Molino with author Melani Martinez
PCFA will host a conversation about food ways and belonging with local professor and author, Melani Martinez this November. Published in 2024, her book, The Molino: A Memoir, tells the story of her family's downtown eatery, El Rapido, which operated from 1933 to 2000. The book details the family's day-to-day, the significance of connection, and the impact of cultural displacement. Incorporating in her personal experiences of growing up with the family business, Martinez weaves a narrative of belonging and transformation through food.
We will have coffee and pastries available to enjoy during the conversation! RSVP here so we can ensure enough for everyone.
Grab yourself a copy today! Available via the Pima County Library or purchase available at Antigone Books or online from the UA Press.
PCFA Fall General Meeting
Join us for PCFA's next community gathering (free event!) at Tucson Village Farm! We’ll share a delicious farm-fresh meal of soup, salad, and focaccia, enjoy live music, and take part in hands-on fun at three activity stations:
• Fun on the Farm
• Become Your Own Sauce Boss
• Seeds of Creativity Corner
Please plan to arrive between 2:00 and 2:15 so we can all begin together. The program is designed for everyone to rotate through the stations starting promptly at 2:15.
